The most well-known sex-themed museum in France was the Musée de l’Érotisme (Museum of Eroticism), located in Paris.

However, it is important to note that this museum is permanently closed.

• Location: 72 Boulevard de Clichy in the Pigalle district of Paris (near the Moulin Rouge).
• History: It was founded in 1997 and featured a collection of erotic art and artifacts from around the world, spanning from ancient art to contemporary pieces. It also had an exhibition floor dedicated to the history of Parisian brothels (known as maisons closes).
• Closure: The museum closed its doors to the public on November 6, 2016, and its entire collection was auctioned off because the owner of the building refused to renew the lease.
